Name: Michael

Years at Lockheed Martin: 10 months

Position: Manufacturing Supervisor

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

Every day, I’m responsible for the operations of a staff who perform a diverse array of tasks for production and final assembly. As part of this, I establish manufacturing milestones, coordinate resources, monitor adherence to master plans and schedules and identify solutions to any challenges we’re having, like when we experience changing contractual specifications. I also look at the needs of our programs and direct the work of technical, manufacturing and administrative employees assigned to them.

What has been the biggest impact from your participation in the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program? The biggest impact from participating in the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program was that it gave me a solid understanding of the culture of Lockheed Martin before I dove into full-time work. Therefore, it was really a seamless transition from Army Captain to supervisor for Lockheed Martin. This was especially important to me, as transitioning from military to civilian life can sometimes be a challenge for separating service members.
